Todd Huffman, Chief Scientist for Sofcoast, is a big proponent and the driving force behind our company's efforts to embrace open source and creative openness.
Slashdot posted a great talk about IP Reform and some lessons that others can learn from the fashion industry about the value of open source development and the constraints to creativity and innovation of high IP industries.
After reflecting on Todd's guidance and position and watching this talk, I think there is a clear case for including and incorporating open source as a key strategy. It just makes a ton of sense.
Especially when you look at the gross sales of goods for low ip industries and high ip industries. (12:20 into the talk..)
