Back in february I jotted some notes down about this topic of energy independent infrastructure as well as regenerative energy systems...I like to organize these concepts in a framework called "cloudparking". One of the thought streams that I had in this topic is something I call the "atomization of the blob" ... if you care to look at my quite bad handwriting and scribbled notes take a look here...
Here's a TED video of Saul Griffith on kites as the future of renewable energy...
Another great video that helps describe the impact of wind energy harvesting...
Also, take a look at this video of the Magenn Rotor Kite which approaches wind energy harvesting in yet another way...
Sofcoast's core area of emphasis, interest and focus is "constrained users and uses" and energy is the ever present problem for constrained users and uses, therefore being able to provide energy independent infrastructure for edge / constrained users/uses is a key element of Sofcoast's long term design philosophy.
We're approaching these problems head on and with this idea of rapid mobile infrastructure (otherwise known as "cloudparking") systems to enable edge of network / infrastructure communications and monitoring systems while over time developing and incorporating the ability to exploit/harvest/convert solar and wind as well.
